INTERESTED IN SINGING WITH US?

Enrollment is open to new members during the first couple rehearsals of each semester. New singing members will meet with the Artistic Director for section placement. While not a formal audition, all singing members should have a good sense of pitch and be willing to learn to read music.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is this an audition?
No, this is not an audition.  You will not be required to perform a prepared piece and there are no examinations of musical ability.  The Artistic Director will play a piece on the piano and you will be asked to sing along.  The Artistic Director will be mainly listening to see if you can match pitch.  It's pretty laid back, so don't be frightened! 

Do I have to be able to read music?
No, though its great if you can!  Once you join the chorale you will be asked to learn some basic music reading skills.

How often do you practice?
We practice once a week, on Monday nights, between 7:00 and 9:30 pm.  Members are also required to attend sectional rehearsals.  On average, there are about four (4) sectionals a semester.

Is there an attendance policy?
Yes there is.  Members are allowed to miss two (2) rehearsals a semester.  Once you miss a third rehearsal you are required to meet with either the Artistic Director or your Section Leader before you can continue to sing with us.

We practice at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1502 West 13th Street, Wilmington, DE 19806

Do you have a performance uniform?
Concert attire is tuxedos for men and black full length sleeved gowns for women.  Women are welcome to wear tuxedos if they prefer.  Members are required to provide their own concert attire.
